For the next six months, Luke kept asking friends for Camille’s number, but nobody would give it to him because they all agreed she was too special to give her number out to just anyone. After months of persistence, they finally realized he was serious about her and gave him her number.

A few days later, Camille jokingly invited Luke to a Randy Rogers Band concert. Luke, however, took the invitation very seriously and drove all the way from Dallas to Austin just to spend time with her at the concert.

This was during the summer of 2021, right before Camille was set to return to Tulane University for her senior year while Luke was finishing his junior year at The University of Texas at Austin. Luke wasn’t exactly thrilled about the idea of long distance, but life had other plans. After a hurricane hit New Orleans and damaged Camille’s house, she moved back home to Austin and finished school online.

During that time, the two quickly became inseparable — spending weekends at Zilker Park, going to every home UT football game, swimming at Barton Springs, and, of course, going to plenty of country concerts.
